Biography

Ehren Lemir Valmé is a distinguished artist and arts administrator, celebrated for his expertise onstage and off. He founded Valmé Arts Consultancy and co-founded the National Arts Diversity Integration Association. His previous experience includes roles with the Metropolitan Opera, Philadelphia Orchestra, The Juilliard School, and Bravo! Vail in Colorado.

A dedicated performer, Valmé serves as the bass trombonist for the New England Symphonic Ensemble and is a brass coach with the New York Philharmonic. His performance repertoire is expansive, having collaborated with numerous ensembles and orchestras. As a composer, he has been commissioned by notable institutions, including the Juilliard School and the PYO Music Institute.

Valmé has commissioned, premiered, and conducted a myriad of modern works as a strong proponent of contemporary music. His expertise as a recording engineer is also evident in numerous recording projects, including credits for WHYY and NPR.

Ehren holds a Bachelor's in Music from The Juilliard School and a Master’s in Arts Administration from Columbia University.
